How Long Should a Workout Be?
Ideal session length for hypertrophy and strength — and what to cut when life is busy.
Overview
Most effective lifting sessions land in 45–75 minutes. Longer is fine if rests are honest for strength; shorter works with tighter exercise lists. Duration is not a virtue by itself.
